the window adjacent to my bed has been smashed open and repaired by a black garbage bag and blue painters tape for months now. in the season of summer the only annoyances it evoked were the sounds of the street; cars driving by, mostly. but this semi-unexpected cold front has permeated my sheets, blankets, and pillows via the hole in my window making it nearly impossible to feel warm and cozy at night. the slender arms of a boy help, although we will inevitably end up opposite spooning into the shape of two parentheses by morning with nothing but scraps of allie's quilt to cover us. in the winter i dress like an onion and eat like a bird. my immediate thoughts have been circulating around taking pictures every available moment. my dreams have been swimming in shallow pools of idealism- diving into daydreams of magazine spreads which feature my portraits, and sleep dreams of cats that continuously die and boys acting as quasi-romanticized father figures. i received my first letter of poor performance from Daytona State College urging the level of commitment to their renowned photo program be at its highest.
